

My description will not be quite accurate (see below for details), but in short, at an early stage of development doom Carmack realized that he wrote for the game 3D-renderer when rendering individual levels began to slow down. I read Masters of Doom a few years ago and can’t remember much of it, but one story from the book about the lead programmer, John Carmack, remains in my memory. Ten years after the release of Doom, in 2003, journalist David Kushner published a book about id Software called Masters of Doom, which has since become a canonical description of the process of creating Doom. Today it is considered to be one of the games that had the greatest impact in history.
